Susan Howland is President & CEO of the Howland Group, a
woman-owned and managed business enterprise. Ms. Howland has
more than 25 years of experience managing complex projects
for domestic and international clients in industry and
government. She is a leader and pioneer in designing and
deploying customized virtual, business enterprise solutions
that facilitate successful collaboration solutions. The
Howland Group’s assignments have included not-for-profit
organizations, government, petroleum, utility, investment
banking, port, marine terminal, customhouse brokerage,
shipbuilding and railroad clients. Her background also
includes nearly ten years of government service to U.S.
Senators Robert Taft, Jr. (R-OH) and John Heinz (R-PA). Ms.
Howland’s leadership and vision has been acknowledged by
being named Woman of the Year by the Women’s International
Trade Association as well the Women’s Transportation Seminar
and the American Society of Transportation and Logistics
have recognized her for her achievements and contributions.
Most recently, The Howland Group has focused their talents
on business and military strategy development and execution
for their development partner the Delaware River Maritime
Enterprise Council (DRMEC), a Pennsylvania not-for-profit.
DRMEC is currently partnered with the U. S. Department of
Transportation, United States Maritime Administration; the
U. S. Department of Defense, Surface Deployment and
Distribution Command, Army Materiel Command, Naval Surface
Warfare Center; and the Pennsylvania Department of Community
and Economic Development to conduct a national demonstration
of agile transport and logistics business practices and
technologies known as RAPID System.
